Timothy J Szymcek

Tim is a Toyota Production System (TPS) training expert, personally trained by multiple Toyota Motor Company executives in Japan.

At Toyota from 1998 to 2005, his work covered new-model development quality, supplier quality, production quality, quality engineering and supplier development. He developed systems to assess the global supply chain, identify weaknesses and address risks before they became production problems.

• Building systems: connecting product launches, model-year changes and supplier capability with dependable production.
• Developing suppliers: leading improvement teams and the North American Supplier Development Program, including supplier-development committee leadership.
• Training people: teaching Toyota Production System methods through Toyota OMDD and supplier-development work.

Across a 20-year executive and advisory career, Tim has carried this foundation into creating and deploying operating systems, training leaders and teams, and making continuous improvement part of daily work.
